Certification
A mark dealers can trust.
Certification tells dealers which vendors actually conform to the standard — and at what level. The program is being defined now, alongside our founding partners.
The certification program opens after v0.1 stabilizes with founding partners. The mark above is granted per conformance level and pinned to a spec version — so “Certified against v0.1” means something exact.

Roadmap
Target milestones
- Q2–Q3 2026
Draft stabilizes
RFC v0.1 reviewed and hardened with the founding cohort.
- Q4 2026
Reference server + test suite
A reference implementation and conformance tests, so “conformant” is provable, not just claimed.
- Q1 2027
Certification opens
Self-attested tier first; independently-tested tier to follow.
Target dates — they move as founding partners engage; the program won’t open before the spec is stable.
What it means
Conformance you can point to.
A certified product implements the specification’s resources, tools, naming, and security profile for the domains it claims — at a declared conformance level. The mark is version-pinned: “Certified against v0.1” means something exact.
Certification is how the “do you support MCP?” question gets a credible answer — not a marketing claim, but a recorded, checkable status.
DMS providers
Prove your agent-facing surface conforms across the domains you expose.
CRM platforms
Show dealers your lead and customer tools are interchangeable and safe.
Website platforms
Certify inventory and lead capture against the standard.
AI-agent vendors
Signal that your agent targets the spec — and which version.
The model
Two levels of assurance.
Self-attested
The vendor declares conformance against a published checklist and version. Fast, transparent, and publicly recorded.
Independently tested
Conformance is verified against the reference test suite by the council or an approved assessor before the mark is granted.
Exact criteria, fees, and the assessor model are part of what founding partners help define.
